We arrived in El Calafate in the evening, we stayed at the Hostel of the Glacier and after a shower we went to tour the town center and a pizza dinner. The hostel isn't located in the downtown but will be about 6 or 7 blocks away that we can do to walk quietly.

Day 6: We hired an excursion to the Perito Moreno Glacier. We left mid-morning on Route 11 to Glacier National Park and descended near the famous glacier. We walked some trails in the area where you can see wild fruits of the place and have different views of the Perito Moreno and the Lago Argentinian Lake.
Then we went to the walkways that are located right on the glacier to see more closely and watch the ice floes which are produced continuously. It is an amazing spectacle that invites you to spend hours standing there enjoying it.
Right there you can hire different sailing on the lakes as well as a trekking the Glacier Perito Moreno. We trek on the glacier we had made in El Chalten, so do not interest us back let alone considering it cost much more expensive this trip than we did, just for being a tourist place.
We hired a sailing that took us across the lake to the glacier wall, to give you an idea, the pieces of ice falling from the glacier will turn into giant icebergs that are floating in the lake, the boat sails between icebergs to get very close to a wall of ice several feet high. There are other navigation which takes you to visit other glaciers in the area that are not visible otherwise.
That night we had dinner at a downtown restaurant that had tango show, do not remember the name, and then went for drinks at a bar.
Day 7: Today we took off, we got up for breakfast and went to tour the downtown and the Paseo de la Costanera. In the evening we prepare a simple meal in the hostel and we are dedicated to socializing with people staying there.
Day 8: Breakfast and mid-morning we left to Torres del Paine (Chile) hired a shuttle and left us in a camp there. The campsite had bathrooms and showers with hot water. We spent three days touring the various glaciers and parts of the park, it is interesting to note the differences in vegetation and fauna from both sides of the Andes Mountains.
In those days I got sick of a fever angina, but did not stop to go, the truth is I was pretty lost and can not remember the names of all the places we went, I do remember is that the views were spectacular as in the Chalten but different, El Chalten is quite arid, while in Torres del Paine is a lot more vegetation and fauna.
I leave you some pictures of Torres del Paine (click here). Once this journey back to El Calafate.
Day 11: We arrived in El Calafate and went straight to the hospital to check me throat, then I rest the remainder of the day so I did not leave the hostel.
Day 12: After lunch we took a taxi to the El Calafate Airport and fly to the city of Ushuaia, the third and final leg of the trip.
